GRANT ELIGIBILITY

Workplace EV charging grant eligibility checklist

This checklist can help you prepare, but it is not an eligibility decision. Always use the current GOV.UK guidance and obtain the required voucher before installation starts. Explore the complete workplace ev charger installation guide.

Updated 15 September 2026 · Installation details are always subject to property or site assessment

Headline questions to check

Eligibility depends on the applicant, site, parking, use and proposed installation.

  • Is the applicant an eligible business, charity or public-sector organisation?
  • Is there suitable designated off-street parking?
  • Does the applicant own the premises or have appropriate consent?
  • Will the chargers support an eligible workplace or fleet use?
  • Has a voucher been issued before work begins?

Current support level

For qualifying installations completed from 1 April 2026, support is up to 75% of eligible purchase and installation costs, capped at £500 per socket and up to 40 sockets across an applicant’s sites.

Use an authorised installer

Only an OZEV-authorised installer can claim the WCS grant on a customer’s behalf. Confirm the installer and proposed chargepoint remain eligible before proceeding.

Important

ChargeBrief is an independent introduction service and does not install, design or certify EV chargepoints. This content is general information; a qualified installer must assess the property or site and confirm the final scope.
