Ask what “solar compatible” means

Different products offer different modes. Some can prioritise surplus solar, some blend solar with grid electricity and others mainly provide monitoring. Ask the installer to explain the operating modes in practical terms.

Share the whole energy setup

Tell the installer about the solar inverter, battery, smart meter, electricity tariff and any planned upgrades. Compatibility and measurement arrangements should be checked before a charger is selected.

Set realistic expectations

Solar output changes through the day and across seasons. Vehicle availability, minimum charging rates and household demand affect how much solar energy can reach the car. A suitable design should balance savings, convenience and desired departure time.
