Privacy notice

This notice explains how ChargeBrief handles information from homeowners, organisations and website visitors.

Information we collect

When you submit a charging brief or contact us, we collect the contact details you provide, property or site postcode, project requirements, parking and electrical information, timescale, message content and basic campaign-source information such as referral page or campaign tags. Workplace enquiries may also include business and grant details.

How we use it

We use this information to prepare and respond to your enquiry, assess suitable installer matches, make requested introductions, operate and improve ChargeBrief, prevent abuse and keep records of consent and communications.

Installer introductions

After review, we may share a brief with up to three suitable installation providers so they can respond to your project. ChargeBrief may receive a lead or referral fee from an installer. Installers are responsible for their own quotations, contracts, work and privacy obligations.

Legal basis, retention and security

We process enquiry details to take steps you request and on the basis of legitimate interests in operating an introduction service. Where consent is the appropriate basis, you may withdraw it. We retain information only as long as needed for the enquiry, legal obligations, dispute handling and suppression records, and use reasonable safeguards to protect it.

Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics is offered as an optional website analytics service. It remains disabled unless you choose “Accept analytics” in the privacy controls. If accepted, it may place or read analytics cookies and collect information about visits, pages viewed, device or browser characteristics, approximate location and interactions with the website. We configure advertising storage and advertising personalisation as denied. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time using the “Privacy choices” button shown on the website.

Google acts as a service provider for this analytics processing. Analytics information helps us understand website use and improve the service; our basis for storing or accessing non-essential analytics information is your consent.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
